Welcome to
It is my privilege to welcome you to Broad Chalke Primary School website. We are excited to show you what our school has to offer and what makes Broad Chalke such a special and unique school.
As a Church of England School our Christian vision "We serve one another in love" and core values: respect, resilience, hope and love help to shape our warm, friendly and inclusive ethos. We strive to provide the very best opportunities for all our children, which not only allows them to achieve academic success but also supports them to flourish and become thriving citizens of the world.
Where to next?
What’s up next?
Thank you to everyone who donated food and joined us for our Harvest Festival. It was wonderful to see each class contribute. All food donations, along with the encouraging notes, will be sent to The Trussell Trust. Lovely thank you letters, written by the children, will be delivered to Broad Chalke Farms as a token of appreciation
What a lovely Autumnal Day today
Well done to our Year 5 & 6 Boys Football Team! We're incredibly proud of the determination and grit shown by our boys at the recent local cluster football event. Their teamwork and perseverance earned them a fantastic third place finish complete with medals! A huge congratulations to the team you represented Broad Chalke brilliantly! Go Broad Chalke!
This week we have been celebrating a love of books. In the summer term our wonderful PTA donated book vouchers to each class. The children chose books for their book corners but also suggested books which could be enjoyed by everyone. This is a small selection of the books which are now available in our central library....there really has been a buzz about reading in the school
We love having Crumble the Dog as part of our school family. Children have the opportunity to spend time with Crumble, read a book with Crumble or take Crumble for a walk. Even staff love having 'Crumble Time' (Crumble is in school every Friday and 'Crumble Time' is part of our wider wellbeing offer)
Our Cygnet Class had an exciting Show and Tell session this week. One of our kind parents brought their family pony to school. The class had the opportunity to ask lots of questions.
Today our Forest Fun Afternoons started . Our Year 4 pupils enjoyed engaging in a range of activities which included a grounding task. This involved them taking their shoes and socks off, listening to sounds and feeling the breeze to connect and appreciate nature. They also learnt about Andreas Celsius who was a Swedish astronomer and mathematician- he invented the first thermometer to read temperature up to 100 degrees. The children investigated temperatures in different locations. Well done Woodpeckers....what a fun afternoon! All of our pupils will experience Forest Fun this term
Today we welcomed some of our new Ducklings - they settled brilliantly We know it can be hard for parents to say goodbye.... the first drop-offs can be full of big emotions. So we sent them on their way with a little treat and words of encouragement.
